Happy Birthday to me!

It's been a birthday of lots of food and eating! It started Friday when I met the hubby for lunch and I chose to get Sonic (so excited to finally have one here! we absolutely loved it in AZ and my pregnancy cravings included french fries from Sonic!) Then, thanks so much to "the girls" for a fun birthday dinner at Olive Garden last night, I had a blast and it was the longest I've been away from Chase ever (thanks to a little convenience called formula!) And, finally today we went to P-town for the day and had an awesome lunch at Claim Jumper. I've eaten so much these last 2 days I feel a stomach ache coming on! But, totally and completely...worth it!

Shout-out to the Gambees...so glad we ran into you in P-town today! What a fun coincidence, you guys are awesome! We miss everyone from good ol' dental school! And, thanks to my hubby for such a fun day, love you lots!

recreation fair

We went to the recreation show at the Salem expo yesterday. I made the hubby promise to leave the wallet at home, otherwise we may have become the owners of too many new toys! It was FREEZING outside, literally! It was hailing and snowing for most of the time we were there. But, we got to try out little bubba's new Jeep stroller and he likes it! Since daddy has a Jeep, he should get one too, right?!! I thought this was a good opportunity to get a picture of the boys...3 generations!

"show me the money!"

Something you may not know about me...I actually loved school and enjoyed it (I'm kind of a nerd that way!). I love to learn and right now I'm all about learning as much as I can about investing and retirement. My Mother-in-law watches the Suze Orman Show and now I'm reading one of her books. I like it because its written all in Q&A so I don't have to read huge sections of confusing financial mumbo-jumbo! (and with Chase I don't have a lot of time for reading anyways!) Also, Bruce & I have a subscription to Money magazine. I've learned a lot so far and it feels empowering to understand and be in control of my money! I used to work in financial aid at a couple different colleges and that helped me to understand taxes as well, so now I'm completely involved in our taxes each year.
Next I'd like to learn something a little more "light" and fun...like maybe skydiving (always a dream of mine)!

fun in the sun

On the warmest day of the year so far (and it was such a great day!) we had to take advantage of the great sun! We went paintballing with some other family and friends and it was a blast! This is the first time Bruce & I have gone together...we didn't get to play at the same time (being a parent is still taking some adjusting) but maybe next time! Props to Dustin, James, Steven, and Keri too, on all the camo! Everyone was so into it! I think paintballing was just an excuse to act out all the war games they play on their game systems!
I'm not really intimidating, am I?!
Chase was all dressed in camo and ready to join the fun! Mostly Chase and I sat by the cars and watched (listened to all the guns going off). Thanks Elena for coming and hangin' out with me!

Extra! Extra! Read All About It!

I wasn't sure if I was supposed to keep this a secret or not so I haven't said anything...until now! There's going to be another grandchild for Wayne & Carol! (let me just stop the rumors right now...no, I'm not the one that's pregnant!) Which means...yep! Patrick and Jessica are pregnant!!! She's due the end of November, which is really close to Chase's 1st birthday! I'm sooo excited for them and I can't wait to meet the new addition. It'll be so much fun when the family gets together to have a couple little ones around too! And, no...this isn't an April Fools joke!
Congrats Patrick & Jessica!
