Go Team USA!

Not much to post about since this is what I've been doing...watching the olympics! I LOVE the olympics and Phelps is amazing. Maybe I should train for the next olympics...maybe my sister and I should do beach volleyball, May & Walsh need some competition...(there's nothing more intimidating than 5'3'' of dynamite!)!!
GO TEAM USA!

swim time

Chase enjoyed playing in the pool with his cousin, "Champ". Thanks so much Amy for getting the kiddie pool! The first (real) day we were visiting family, the kids went swimming...Little Bubba wasn't having too much fun that time. He still had a personal bubble that everyone kept invading (sounds like his momma, right?!). Cambria loved it though, she was having fun crawling in and out of the pool!

the doctor said...

"I think he's aesthmatic." Sure.
I took Little Bubba to the doctor yesterday for his 9 month check-up. It was a very convenient appointment as he had gotten sick while we were in UT and hasn't been getting much better. When the doctor first heard him cough he looked right at me and asked, "Which parent is aesthmatic?" Caught off-guard, I barely mumbled my answer that neither of us were. The little guy coughed again and the doctor asked again....,"Which one coughs a lot when they get sick...and usually gets a cough with every illness...it gets worse at night...?" Again...not sure why he's pushing this...I thought about it and mummbled again, "me, I guess."
"That's what I thought." That's what he said!
He then proceeded to explain his interrogation by explaining that the little guy sounded like his cough was somewhat wheezy and that he thinks he might be aesthmatic (not to say he has full-blown aesthma). But, it gets flaired up when he gets sick and that's why his cough gets so bad at nights especially.
He gave Little Bubba some medicine that's supposed to last 2 days (I didn't think the little guy would hold still long enough for the face mask-style inhaler type thingy). We'll see I guess.
But, back to the reason for the appointment...
Little Bubba is still growing, but he's slowed down (whew!). He's about 21 lbs., and about 29'' tall! Still a good eater and good sleeper (when he's not sick). He's crusing all over the place and thinks he's invincible.
We're going out today to get some gates.

on a tour

Today we met up with Mamas for lunch and ate at the Nauvoo Cafe (absolutely delicious!). Afterwards, we took a tour of the Beehive House (one of Brigham Young's homes). It was really cool to see, and little bubba was such a flirt! He kept laughing and was trying to impress the tour guide (a sister missionary) with his new trick...spitting. He thinks its the best thing since solid foods (which he also has discovered creates quit a reaction when he practices spitting during meal time).

We walked around the temple grounds a little bit. I bought a, to-die-for, Utah mint truffle at the Lion House Pantry and was keeping it until we got home (it has to eaten with plenty of milk!) only to have it completely melt in the car on the way home...bummer.
little bubba loved "site-seeing" and I'd love to go again!

"working"

I love photography and I've wanted to be a photographer since I was 10 years old. So, its hardly work when I get asked to take pictures or hired for a shoot! While visiting my family out-of-state, we took the opportunity to do some family portraits. The finished print is so adorable with a collage of photos (this isn't the finished product). These two boys are so fun! They have tons of energy and I'm amazed I was able to get them both to hold still and smile...at the SAME TIME! I haven't had time to "play" with any of the photos yet (like blk/wht, additional cropping, etc.) but I'll get to it!
I also took some family pictures for some family friends...phil & laura (thanks!) Their little girl sure does love the camera!
We're having so much fun here! Bruce enjoyed some indoor surfing, and all the grandkids loved the train ride we took! We've been looking at homes for sale (for my parents...not for us!)and trying to keep the house clean to show potential buyers (not an easy task with 4 grandkids on the loose!) The little bubba got sick (along with my stunning ability to ruin flight statuses, my family has the amazing talent of ALWAYS being sick when we visit...which of course means we get to share the lovely illnesses as well, that's love!). I've got plans to take more portraits before I leave, so I've been "working" a lot this trip!
